We are Alexander and Jessie van Dort, a Dutch/Chinese family with a passion for nature, adventure, and the pursuit of challenges. Our journey has led us to the stunning landscapes of Sweden, a place we have always admired for its tranquility and breathtaking beauty. In 2016, we took the bold step to leave our hometown of Almelo in the Netherlands to embrace life in Munkfors, Sweden. Our first endeavor was to acquire Storängens Camping in Ransäter in May 2016, followed by the takeover of Perrongen Guesthouse in August 2019. Perrongen Guesthouse is nestled in the historic former railway station in Munkfors, conveniently located right alongside the Klarälvsbanan cycle path. With the city center and the central bus station just 800 meters away, and easily reachable by car, bike, or on foot, our location is ideal for exploring the area. A mere 600 meters from the charming old part of Munkfors, known as 'Galma Bruket, ' you can immerse yourself in local history, visit museums, admire the architectural beauty of old buildings, and indulge in a delightful coffee at the nearby café while enjoying picturesque views of the waterfall and scenic walking trails. Our guesthouse serves as a perfect starting point for discovering the enchanting region of Värmland, with Karlstad just 60 km away, Mårbacka at 30 km, and the stunning landscapes of Gettjärnsklätten and Brattfallet only a short drive from us.
