Bidra med feedbackThis was a place I visited on New Years Eve because of my love for Japanese cuisine and due to New Year it was super packed that day with no space to move at all.I think also their weekends as well as weekdays are kind of a full house and its difficult to get bookings here so its better to make your bookings in advance.<br/ <br/ Location(5/5)<br/ Very easy to locate, also since its near a shopping mall it makes it convenient and attracting to a lot of shoppers too.Its on the top floor next to Shoppers Stop. Kofoku(Japanese) and Heng Bok(Korean) are opposite each other making it a paradise for Asian food lovers. As a frequent shopper at Shoppers Stop I would often wonder what is this restaurant about and always wanted to visit this place,so glad I finally did.<br/ <br/ Ambience(5/5):<br/ Although it was too noisy that day because of New Year, but what a vibe, this place looks super comfy. On entering the restaurant you feel like you have entered Japan, they have this beautiful Japanese feel with warm colored interiors, beautifully lit dim lights and soft music ,there are also few Japanese waiters who are warm and greet in Japanese saying 'Irasshaimase ' which means 'Welcome to the restaurant ' and as you leave also they say 'arigatou gozaimasu ' which means 'Thank You '.<br/ They also have the traditional zashiki(tatami seating) in an open and private seating other than the normal table seatings (Teburu Seki).<br/ <br/ My order:(All Non-Veg)<br/ <br/ Since this was my first time here, I wanted to taste a variety of different dishes but was a little confused looking at the menu. But the waiters did a good job of suggesting the famous/should try Japanese dished because I loved almost everything.<br/ <br/ Starters:<br/ <br/ 1)Calamari Tempura with some a yellow mayo kind of sauce dip(5/5)<br/ Wow these were so yum. Tempura sounds like a simple dish but it can often go wrong. This one was really delicious and that dipping sauce suited very well with it.Simple yet yummy. It had a good crisp and was well cooked yet slightly chewy but tender, which is what makes a good calamari tempura. The quantity is decent for maybe too people.I liked it and so ordered it again for the second time.<br/ <br/ Main Course:<br/ <br/ 1)Yaki Soba Noodles(Prawn)(5/5)<br/ Firstly I 'm not a big fan of soba noodles but these were too good. This is a must try, just go for it,I highly recommend this dish. One of their super tasty noodles with a perfect blend of the sauce flavors along with few veggies and juicy prawns making you love every bite.I was almost going to order another plate but then I wanted to keep space to try other dishes(lol). But the next time I go back,I am going to order this for sure.<br/ <br/ 2)Teppan Yaki Fried Rice(Prawn)(4.5/5)<br/ This is the Japanese style sticky fried rice cooked on a teppan(a flat surface cooking grill). This is not like the normal Chineese Fried rice,it has a little sticky texture to it and it tasted good and had the flavors with few veggies, egg and the sauce mix in it.But,honestly I am not a huge fan of the sticky rice.<br/ <br/ 3)Ramen Noodles(Chicken)(I think it was Miso Ramen, not sure)(3/5)<br/ This was an ok dish, but I did not enjoy this dish as much as the other dishes. The chicken did not feel fully flavoured, also the broth felt little less flavourful.<br/ <br/ Value for money(4.5/5):<br/ The food presentation is decent and it tastes like yummy Japanese food.If you order the right dishes suiting your tastebuds( sometimes you may have no idea what to order if your entering a Japanese rest for the first time,so the waiters guide pretty well),its a value for money. From what I ordered the quantity of the starters were good for 2 people and main course was pretty good enough for 3 people /2 heavy eaters.Yes,they are a little bit on the expensive side but their taste makes up for it.I feel its a good restaurant to visit on occasions/birthdays with family/friends.<br/ <br/ Will I revisit:<br/ Yes, definitely. When I had visited,as it was too crowded I used the normal table seating,so I am definitely looking forward to visit the restaurant another day and try the traditional Japanese style tatami seating. Also I was too full to try anything else so I am going to have to revisit again to try the many dishes that sounded amazing in the menu.Right from the ambience to the food to the greetings to the seating, just everything feels like you have entered Japan. Also this is a great place to get some amazing pictures, some of my friends thought I really was in Japan on seeing the pictures(hehe)
If you want to have a taste of good Japanese food, this is the place to go. I loved every single item that we ordered. Do not forget to have the Sushi rolls and the Ramen soup! They are just awesome. Great vibe and delicious taste
Definitely one of the good places for sushi in Mumbai! Their menu is pretty extensive.Choose from a large range of Japanese and East Asian delicacies . Love their sushi, ramen and mango mochi ice cream.I also love the concept and ambiance of the place and the sushi bar. They share a common floor with a Korean restaurant which I am keen to visit as well.
Kofuku is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Mumbai. Here, when you enter, you will actually feel like you are in Japan. And do not mistake it to be 'Indian-type-Japanese ' please. It is very authentic.<br/ <br/ In picture : Green tea icecream. You will definitely crave for something sweet after eating alot of sushi here. If that sweet is also heathy, then it 's just the best of both worlds. This icecream is served along with a date fudge brownie. So let us all agree that 's they care about our taste as well as our health!
