The Fish Market - Mullingar

Chips were dry cold. Fish was average. Was expecting a lot more from this place, very disappointing that it’s so far off the mark.

I initially thought this was just a fish shop but was pleasantly surprised to find out they also serve hot food. The selection available was lovely, and I decided to try the taster box (without the raw oyster, as it is not my preference). The meal was very good indeed.

The food is OK nothing more. But its a specialist fish and chip takeaway so, you would expect more. In particular, the chips are poor any decent Italian chipper does much better chips. It always seems to be very busty, so best to ring in your order.

We stopped into The Fish Market in Mullingar on Saturday evening and were very pleasant surprised at the quality and Quantity of our meals. The flavour of their Chowder was magnificent. We had 2 main Dishes and both were fantastic. . We got very lucky because we were the last people to leave there and the owner gave us some chowder to take away for free as they would be closed for a fee days. The staff were very polite and the service top notch. Id definitely recommend The fish Market for anyone who likes their food. Id give it a 12 out of 10 if inwas a food critic ..thanks again for a culinary treat in the heart of Mullingar..hope to see ye again soon ..

I recently discovered this hidden gem after seeing it on Tripadvisor. It was a bit hard to find at first, as it's located near a fish market that only sells fresh, uncooked fish. Eventually, I found a small takeaway on the other side of the shop. Despite the lack of seating, the food was absolutely worth it. I tried the cod bao buns and the loaded fries, and I must say, I will definitely be a regular customer. The prices are reasonable, with 2 bao buns and loaded fries costing 17 Euro. The cod in the bao buns was fluffy and crispy, served on a soft steamed bun with pickled ginger and slaw. The loaded fries were topped with tender beef brisket, cheese, Chipotle mayo, tomato, scallions, and were a generous portion. My only complaint is the lack of seating, but I will definitely be returning for more delicious food.
