Cinder - Mt Royal

Place is always way too crowded and extremely loud. Service is just okay, nothing to brag about. There is outside seating but you get eatten up by flies and there is nothing to deter this so it does get annoying to have to always swat them away. Maybe invest in some Citronella for the outdoor tables

I have had mostly good experiences here. The food is usually good, but the service isn’t. In June I brought my wife and daughter out for my daughter’s 8th birthday. I asked our waitress in private if a group of waiters could sing happy birthday to my daughter. She said, “oh yeah we can totally do that”. Great! So I ordered a dessert and handed her a candle to use. Then she just dropped the dessert off and left without even lighting the candle? No singing, and I had to go hunt down a lighter. It would not have been a problem if she had just told me that they don’t sing or whatever. I wouldn’t have ordered a dessert. But it was super awkward having to then get up to go ask for a lighter from the bartender so we could light the candle and sing to my 8 year old. Anyway, if you want to celebrate a birthday go somewhere else because there’s no singing at Cinder Bar. I haven’t been back since then.

Been to this location many times and usually have a great experience. Tonight however, they attempted to seat us at a shared table with 0 warning, all while waiting 25 minutes. We requested a table for 2, but got sat at a large table when we came up after waiting. Then another couple sat at the other end of the table, so we got up and left. I have worked in service before, so I understand you have to try and make do when it is packed. But I would have rather waited longer for my own table, rather than having a fast one pulled on me. The hostesses were quite standoffish as well, and I would have appreciated a more welcoming demeanor, along with being warned about the shared table.

Great food atmosphere! Our go to spot for date night family night!

DO NOT EAT HERE! I would put zero stars if I could! They sold us overpriced rotting pizza, and when we tried to get our money back, they said you're on your own. Please save your time and money. I wouldn't have let my cat eat that disgusting pizza. STAY AWAY!
