Bidra med feedbackDo you remember on Sunday's going to your grandmothers for dinner? Simple furnishings, simple food, simple comfort. That's Alison's. Our server was friendly and honest about the food. The vinyl booth was muted colors reminiscent of 70's Tupperware and a low hum of laughter and chatter filled the air. The menu is overloaded with comfort food that makes you want to unbuckle your belt and recline in a Lazy Boy. We both ordered the Gourmet Meatloaf. A countrified version of the Cheesecake Factory's Mile High Meatloaf. It was good. Homemade mashed potatoes with a huge slab of tasty meatloaf topped with fried onions and then baptized in brown gravy. If I'm missing home, I'll be visiting Allisons. By the way, they have a full bar. Grandma never had a full bar...that you could see. Hers was tucked away in her patent leather purse...to be used for medicinal purposes only. Best part? We got out of there for under $20 that's for two meals and two drinks. The manager (who is also one of the owners) came out and said hello, she'd heard it was our first time there. Really welcoming.
Well Allison's, I wasn't sure you could get worse but you did. The food is fine, it's typical Americana diner food. Nothing I would rave about, Gordon Ramsay would have a field day with this place. But with that being said, I've never ordered anything and sent it back. I would use discretion when choosing, the use of a microwave is heavy here. Do order the blue cheese chips. Whoever came up with the idea to put Alfredo sauce, blue cheese crumbles on kettle cooked chips is a genius. If I were reviewing the food alone I would give this place 3.5 stars easily. The real problem with this place and the entire reason for my review is the incompetence of the staff. My most recent visit was horrendous. I don't know if the kid was new or what, but he really has no business waiting tables. I'm sure we would still be waiting for our food if my friend didn't seek out the owner and ask about. We aren't a particularly hard group to please, but it was bad. So bad that the owner (Hi Pam, I know you're going to read this) had to comp the table right next to us (which arrived after we did) for their meal, who had the displeasure of having the same waiter. She did so enough for our entire table to hear... But we still had to pay. None of us were looking for a free meal, and we would have left happy if you would have at least acknowledged the **** service and apologized. I really hate leaving bad reviews, especially for local business, but get it together. Also, avoid this place like the plague on Sunday morning/afternoon. It is packed to the max with the after church crowd.
Great restaurant that we stopped into after reading reviews on Yelp. Also one of the 7 year olds in our party is named Allison so we thought would be great memories! It is the type of restaurant that we would frequent often if we lived in the area. Everything was good and the chicken tenders are hand breaded which makes me happy when you have a kid that only eats chicken nuggets or steak... We're sad to see we missed breakfast with Santa by 3 hours. I didn't see it listed on the website so we only knew about it by the sign posted on the front door
Great place to go with the family! It 's not overly priced and the food is good and a home cooked taste! The menu has enough choices that you don 't feel deprived. Bacon cheeseburger is really great and so is the chicken and broccoli pasta! Overall a good place!
Enjoyed my grilled vegetable sandwich, which came highly recommended by friends from the area. I went with some locals, and seemed the staff knew everyone. Really friendly service. I'll be back to try some more from their exte
