I have found the Market Cafe a wonderful place to visit for a bite to eat when I am at Caremont Medical. The food is simple but good and the workers are so helpful and nice!
Terrible service, they charge you so much money for a less than desirable meal . The owner could care less about the quality of his food or the cleanliness of his counter space. Nasty signs about examples of extras and what you will pay for a small cup of hot sauce. A rotten slice of avocado is 2.50. Do yourself a favor if you must eat here or you know you are going to have a long appointment pack a lunch. Workers can be seen touching food without gloves or mixing raw products on the counter then prepping a sandwich.
Recently at Mount kisco Medical Group and Had an hour to kill while father was having testing done. Was directed to cafe in separate Bldg .right next door. Was surprised to see a very nice Cafe with an outdoor patio and very good customer service and really good food. They even give you free sides of pickles coleslaw or mac salad and piece of fruit with your wrap or sandwich which is rare. The service was fast which is not the case in most of the under staffed corporate cafeterias I have been to. They were very accommodating and will pretty much make any wrap or sandwich you want. I got a wrap with chicken bacon avocado cheddar and chipotle. Very large selection of cheese and Veggies and even 4 variety of wraps. Food was fresh and not stingy on the wraps it was full and they even put it on pannini machine to heat up. Price was fair and food was very good. Would definitely go back.
Had the occasion of being at CAREMOUNT, a complex of medical buildings. When I had one hour between appointments and being quite hungry at noon, I asked people who worked at the center if there as anywhere to eat,, one person said, Market Cafe. Two of us went there and noticed the place was nearly empty. I would say 4 people in a large space. Then I looked at the menu posted above the serving area and I couldn 't believe the prices. I looked at my watch and realized I had 20 minutes to my next medical test so I knew I had no choice but to eat here. I paid $4 for a cup of lentil soup that needed salt and seasoning. Couldn 't believe the price. Usually at a diner, the max is 2.95. And somehow these cups were small styrofoam vessels that accommodated very little soup. My eating companion ordered a veggie sandwich on a roll for $8 plus tax. Wow. Couldn 't believe what we paid for a soup and a sandwich after tax. I don 't understand why this medical complex doesn 't provide it 's own reasonably priced eating establishment where people don 't feel ripped off. The Mayo clinic does it as well as some NY hospitals. When I returned to the medical area I asked the clerk who told me about Market Cafe if he had ever been there. He said, no, I can 't afford it . No more Market Cafe for me. Ever.
