Bidra med feedbackThis was very good for a gas station market! I had a nice experience with the low prices and the variety of options considering that the location of the shop is in a somewhat abandoned part of the island. I love it!! I have a pizza here for less than 3 dollars and it was surprisingly good!!!! DEFINETES RECOMEND FOR a QUICK PIT STOP in MDI!!!!
Grossly poor sanitation...no gloves dealing with food wiping hands on a dirty apron 4-5 times per sandwich...rack dropped on floor was returned to sandwich prep area from floor by another gloved employee that then moved food with same gloves on...gee did I put you out by ordering my lunch? Never again
Stopped in to get two specialty pizzas the Chicken Bacon Ranch and the Loaded Potato. My family members are pizza snobs and they loved these two as did I. The basamlic glaze on the Chicken Bacon Ranch one was sensational. Be sure to visit the bathrooms here as they're hands down the cleanest and most modern ones on Mt. Desert Island. The pizza was even great the second day heated up at 265 F for about ten minutes.
Store itself has lots of good stuff, but the anti-vaxers who work there are not helping the pandemic end anytime soon.
While they are busy making pizzas, if you attempt to order from the menu, you'll find them looking confused, and your order will take a considerable amount of time. You'll be lucky if you find any hot food available at all; the hot food area is often completely empty. You can always count on their pepperoni pizza, but if you want anything else like hot dogs, burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, or mozzarella sticks, forget it. And after 5:00 PM, they seem reluctant to prepare any food for the hot bar. Back where I’m from, hot bars are kept full, especially at dinner time, but here you’re lucky to find even a few burgers, fries, or hot dogs before noon. It leaves you hungry, and all you end up with is a cold sub. When we ordered sandwiches, paid, picked them up, and left, a rather abrupt woman ran after our car to ask if we had paid! Seriously? We just wanted to get off the bumpy road out front. It only got worse when, after confirming we had indeed paid, another employee approached us asking for verification—it was bizarre! Avoid this place at all costs; the behavior of the staff has been strange on multiple occasions, especially when we just wanted to place simple orders. Sadly, Freshies, like many other businesses in MDI, struggle to find stable employees, and it's disheartening to see people who don’t seem to want to work. It makes you wonder how so many people manage to earn a living without putting in the effort. I have never encountered adults who don't know how to make a sandwich until visiting Freshies here in Maine. There seems to be a significant issue with the staff across all Freshies locations nearby.
