Bidra med feedbackCasual little brother of Ormeggio next door... The food is great and deserves to be viewed in its own light and not that of the big brother... I loved the fresh bread, the smoked meats, the wagyu and mushrooms, and the mains were astounding... Save the chicken diavolo and beef for a finale!<br/ The staff we responsive, albeit sometimes missing on a very busy Saturday night...<br/ Overall, awesome, exceptional value, and we'll be back!!!<br/
I came here for a birthday, as they have a birthday offer available. We ordered one of the tasting menus and everything was absolutely delicious. The wine was matched very well to the meal, at the advice of the staff. The atmosphere was fun, feeling like we were sitting on a boat, without the bobbing. I really enjoyed my experience and will be back.
I took my friend to this restaurant for a belated birthday celebration. We arrived at 6pm and decided to try the Chef's sharing feast priced at $65 per person, which seemed like a good deal. Since we were the first customers of the evening, we were seated right away and our food and drinks arrived promptly. We started with house made crusty sourdough with olive oil, followed by bruschetta, slow cooked veal in tuna mayonnaise, and crispy fried squid. The sourdough was too hard to eat comfortably, but the bruschetta and squid were delicious. I didn't love the veal with mayo, but it was tasty when eaten in moderation. For our mains, we had a tomato pasta with wagyu beef, grilled king prawns, and grilled chicken with corn. The pasta was a bit salty and we didn't finish it, but the prawns were excellent and the highlight of the meal. We ended with a dessert platter of Nutella donuts and cannoli, which were good but not outstanding. The table service was excellent and the view of the sunset over the marina and cliff houses was magical. While the food wasn't extraordinary, it was a pleasant experience overall and I would recommend it for special occasions.
We came to this restaurant for lunch and found it to be very peaceful, leading to excellent service. The food was enjoyable; I ordered pasta which was good, but the standout were the fries, which were incredibly crispy. Situated in a beautiful area of Mosman by the water, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit, especially for a pleasant walk afterwards.
Actual rating: 3.5<br/ <br/ Chiosco is the less formal branch of fine dining restaurant, Ormeggio at the Spit next door. We went for the set menu which was decent value at less than $80 for about 10 courses. My personal favourites: the gorgeous dark, crusty sourdough with a grassy olive oil; bruschetta with fresh cheese and anchovy; gnocchi with gorgonzola, pickled pear and walnuts; ricotta cannoli. Efficient service and food arrived quickly (could be slowed down, in fact). They were also very accommodating with dietary needs. It's a lovely setting overlooking the waters and is well protected from the elements, with excellent heating for winter dining.
