Bidra med feedbackWow, the dumplings are really really good, and dare I say, sophisticated! The first bite will give an unmistakable hint of five spice, but it will disappear quickly, and you will be getting the pure beef (or shrimp) flavor with the liquid, and of course the toothsum shrimp or beef bites, with the background flavor of scallion. The shell is pure textural joy! all ingredients tasted very fresh. Loved it.
Went here in the middle of the week and got their spicy beef burger, assorted dumplings, and pan friend pork and mushroom buns. The buns were definitely my favorite out of the trio...the spicy beef burger was not that spicy and felt like it needed a vegetable or sauce of some sort...it was also very oily. The dumplings were okay, but felt like they would've been better if there was a pan fried option. The spicy chili oil that came with it was delicious...I would've bought that on it's own if it was available. Would come here again and try other things on the menu. There's also frozen dumplings you can get by the pound to take home, which would be good and easy to add to a soup or ramen as well. The customer service was great and clearly a mom and pop type atmosphere. Also right next to the Indian grocery store, so you can hit up both in one go.
We had a quick lunch there eating the pork dumplings. It was fantastic. Much much better than the frozen ones we bought in the supermarket before. We decided to buy some uncooked one homes so we can enjoy it back in Charlotte. Highly recommend if you are interested in Chinese dumplings.
Aite so I had the realization while eating their pork cabbage dumplings that I like my dumplings pan seared or fried. They were tasty and I liked the soy based sauce a lot. That spicy red sauce wasn't giving the girls much. Like it was flavorful but like them steamed joints be loose. Like they be sliding around the plate while I'm trying to not look uncultured and trying to catch them with the chopsticks. I mean they were tasty; I've had better steamed dumplings that weren't as slippery but they were good.
Cumin lamb roujiamo is ON POINT I would eat this for lunch any day of the week. Stuffed with tender lamb, fat on, spicy, not totally overwhelmed by cumin perfect. We were super lucky because we literally got the last sandwich of the day at 1pm everyone coming in after us was told they were out. I guess maybe keep this in mind if you plan to have it for dinner? Dumplings had that unmistakable homemade look and texture with the thick skin. We got the 'who knows ' which is just a random selection of their dumplings. There is no outward indication of what flavor is in each one, so you just have to be surprised. Sharing with another person, there 's a lot of 'no fair, you got the good one! '. I liked the chicken mushroom and shrimp/pork/chives the best.
