Bidra med feedbackGood basic food, good prices, sometimes uneven service. I was on my way twice. A very pleasant surprise. I have the big sausage biscuits and gravy with ash-browns. Oh, my God. The first compartments were twice as much as one arrives at this place with all swing chairs. Good basic foods filled me up to lunch at work. Yeah, it's a real truck stop, so you can expect the basics. A true hole-in-the-wall place, looks like they bleed out the right side of the gas station to make the restaurant seat. Service. I have food for the customer. For the first time finished coffee, put cup on the side of the table as a signal. Completely ignored. (Thanks to go through the pot) The second time they never let it go over half. Do not get the big cookies / Gravy if you are really hungry, or you are a farmer/builder. That and the huge portion of Hash Browns, (for now) under $10! It looked like other dishes were served, everything looked good. Will definitely stop next time I'm in the area.
I really liked this place. It has various sweet little things and a bright bean area.
No frills at DHD. Just plenty good wholesome food, excellent service, and a fair price. The wait help told happy stories. I was passing thru via I-64 W. I am retired US Navy and now write novels. I got an interesting character idea from the visit. Thank you!!!
Eat was good, patty melts and chicken fingers are good! Thick juicy burgers!
Here for the first time for breakfast. It is definitely worth stopping. It lives until the name Down Home Diner. Nothing beautiful, but the food is prepared for your order, and the short wait is worth while it is made. I cooked a sausage and cheese omelette with domestic frits on the grill, not fried deeply. And a freshly made cookie. Wow! The house friars were the best I ever had, and the Omelet was also really good. The atmosphere can't look so much, but the food is safe. One of the best breakfasts I've had for a long time! I'll be right back.
