Bidra med feedbackAfter hearing about this restaurant being ranked as a top spot, we decided to give it a try and we were blown away! As self-proclaimed food enthusiasts, we are always on the lookout for new dining experiences. The food here is simply outstanding and crafted with care. Each dish is beautifully presented and offers a wonderful array of flavors and ingredients. Our favorites included the delicious pate en croute, the celeriac with goat cheese and caviar, and the mouthwatering venison au jus. We indulged in a total of 7 main courses, creating our own tasting menu. To top it off, we enjoyed two delectable desserts made by the chef's wife, who owns a nearby bakery. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, costing around $15 per dish. For us food lovers, this was an exceptional deal considering the experience we had, along with dessert and wine. We were disappointed to see that there were only a few other patrons on a Saturday night. It's time for the neighborhood and city to recognize this gem of a restaurant. Spread the word and enjoy a fantastic dining experience!
Spacious and airy Cirkus is a delightful brunch spot on the weekend. Selections are well prepared and presented. Omelets with homemade ricotta mushroom such par excellence. The pate en croute with pickled veg fruit was perfect but the side salad was dressed with too vingeary an accompaniment. Is the pate en croute a standard menu item now to replace the oeufs mollets? If so Cirkus would be better served to produce a current menu rather than have the wait staff struggle to remember what's on, let alone translate to English. We enjoyed our meals and enjoyed sharing with each other. Lots of open space, with a leisurely pace to our meal. Thank you. We ate everything and were very well satisfied.
My friends and I went for Sunday brunch at this restaurant. There were two vegetarian options available. Instead of having the omelette, I chose to try the monkey bread. It consisted of two large slices of slightly toasted and slightly sweet bread served over chocolate ganache, berries, and apple slices. Personally, I found it too dry and felt that it could use some egg, syrup, or more berry sauce to moisten it up. Unfortunately, they did not have soy milk available for my latte, so I had to settle for a regular one. Despite these minor setbacks, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely.
We decided to give this recently opened restaurant a try after hearing many positive reviews. It is located in the trendy Plateau area on Laurier street, making it easily accessible from downtown. The interior is simple, with an open kitchen overlooking a seating bar. We were warmly greeted and seated quickly on a busy weekend evening, hoping to enjoy a nice dinner after escaping the bitter cold outside. However, the table service was polite but quite slow throughout the meal. We started with a beet salad with mascarpone ravioli and leek vinaigrette with quail eggs, which were well presented but lacked flavor. Our main dishes, a deer filet and duck magret, were slightly overcooked and the sauces were minimalist, with the deer having a disappointing sauce and the duck served with a tasty kale-based one. For dessert, we had a pistachio cake which was quite good. The wine list was short and expensive, but we managed to find a good Pinot Noir. Overall, we were not necessarily disappointed, but we were not impressed by the overall experience given the high expectations and prices.
Who ever owns this franchise has ruined the brand I ordered beef kebobs with rice, potatoes, and salad The kebobs were reheated and burned.
