Orchidee De Chine - Montréal

It is hard to find good Chinese food with a nice ambiance but this restaurant has it. I had a wonton soup which was very good and my husband loves the dry garlic spareribs. The general TAO's chicken was superb. Good spring rolls and overall good food. Ordered a house wine but they do not indicate what it is. Not great. Service was efficient but could have been a bit more welcoming.

Visited this restaurant tonight and ordered the won ton soup, general tao chicken and orange beef. While both dishes were sugary...still delicious. The won ton soup was incredible filled with delicious dumplings! Cannot wait to return.

If you stay away from those dishes that come with the thick, orange sweet sauce and the sometimes common brown sauce in Chinese restaurants, you can eat very well. Most of their fish dishes are superb! I highly recommend the tuna salad, the steamed black cod with scallions, and the blackened shrimp with vegetables. Many other dishes are wonderful too.

Very good restaurant, liked a lot the food and ambience. Not so cheap, but it's worth it. Also, the service was quite fast.

Tuesday night, we were there as a group of 8. We took many appetizers meals, rice and vegetables. As it was not our 1st visit, we had expectations. Chicken was heated so the coverage was on top of it. It did not change much of the taste but the structure of it was not as fine as it used to be. Veggies were perfect. Beef was not warm enough. Service was very good (2 men). There is 1 bill per table. Location is perfect. Recommend to improve with kitchen.
