Bidra med feedbackLooking for a genuine Mexican restaurant experience? Try Maria Bonita in Montreal. Small, quaint and friendly atmosphere. Excellent foods prepared à la Mexicana. You will enjoy it, I am sure, as much we've enjoyed it. As for their red Sangria: excellent!Clément RodrigueHalifax, Nova Scotia
Having consulted the menu on the restaurant's website we were very looking forward to going, we had plenty of choice in mind. What a disappointment the card offers only tacos. very ordinary that is not worth it. Only one person to serve the restaurant, it's stressful we never know if we'll be served in time.
It was not what I thought but I decided to still give it a try It's more tapas size dishes with tortillas. Everything was fresh.I found 5$ for one quesadilla a bit much. Maybe I should've looked at the menu more carefully but because it was an entrée I thought that there was more than one.
The tapas plates are quite small indeed. The only one we found really delicious was the Chile nogada. We both love mole, but theirs was not flavourful. The warm, fresh tortillas are great. Sharing 5 tapas (maybe it was 6, we did have to order 2 of the chile nogadas)! and a cheap bottle of wine our bill was $100. Perhaps our expectations were too high?
We stopped in rather late for a lovely little lunch and enjoyed a wonderful assortment of tacos on a windy, chilly afternoon. The sun was lovely and our waitress was kind. The decor is charming and looks so casa-style. We will go back soon to try out dinner.
