Escondite - Montréal

This is a lively place with a great atmosphere, friendly and quick service. Because I didn't share, I had two guys, a pig and a chicken, both delicious.

We sat at the bar and had a great time. It is a cozy place and it was packed on a week night. The bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. The cocktails are a turn on the traditional Mexican cocktails they all had a kick. Grain bread... was so light and fluffy. Recommend Baja and Korean Steak Tacos as well as Tostados. Very fresh ingredients. And the orders came fast. We had fun to order a few records and then decide what to choose next. For the reviews complaining about the portions and price, one must remember that this restaurant is in the heart of Montreal in 2022. This is not a cheap city and inflation is real. We were in town for a few days and sitting for a restaurant, the value is there.

Came here at last min reservation for party of 8. Not bad place, but don't come here if you want some rest room for dinner. Server was on site. I appreciate that they had a smile on their face, what they had on our... Table Worked came, very efficient by catching herself from the bartender. It was pretty busy, just a few empty tables on a Friday night at 930. The food: I didn't know it was such a tapas place until I got there and started to ask about the food on the menu. I love tapas, but usually they have a few more choices because it's small bites. I have the lambtaco. Good taste and fresh ingredients (Cilliantro was nice touch.) I also ordered the soup. Was not sure what was in it, but good taste and thick with beans and some other things I could make out. It had Pablanos and Jalapeños, but it had quite mild heat. All in all beautiful points. I came with friends so I didn't have a lot of choice on site as I prefer a pretty place.

We had a great lunch here. we enjoyed the tasting menu and everything was delicious. server were friendly and knowledgeable. will return definitiw.

We went here for lunch amidst a busy day in Montreal and it was a good experience overall. A note is that the tacos were a little small and come in packs of 2 so don’t come too hungry or order multiple entrees.
