Chef Guru - Montréal

I'm not interested in trying the curry poutine and the chicken seems questionable. The daal wasn't the most flavorful I've had.

The service at this restaurant is good. However, we were disappointed with our order of butter chicken as it did not taste like the traditional dish we were expecting.

To begin, the restaurant is called Chef Guru G, not Chef Guru. It has a hole-in-the-wall aesthetic and does not attempt to appear upscale.

This is a small and simple place with a quite small choice of dishes. The only dish I tried here was the Chicken curry poutine - and it was delicious! Who would have guessed that poutine fits so well with Indian flavors? The servings are huge, the service friendly, and prices low. Thumbs up!

Small cosy place on St. Laurent, a few places to sit. Its cheap and comfortable. Ordered the veg thali , it comes with rice, dal and egg-plant sabji topped with a nicely fried samosa (samosa was quite tasty.) All for $5. I guess this is an amazing deal on a cold winter afternoon. Will try the curry poutine next time!
