Bocadillo - Montréal

Delicious! The Venezuelan food at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic! The arepas are huge and packed full of flavor. The yucca fries are perfectly crispy and the cilantro lime dipping sauce adds a fresh touch. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's a hidden gem with a cozy atmosphere and great food. Overall, great vibes, great food, and great people.

I went to this restaurant with my family to watch a soccer game and have lunch. The restaurant was nearly empty and we were seated at a table where we couldn't see the TV. I asked if we could change to a table with a better view or if they could accommodate us better, explaining that we had an elderly family member who couldn't watch from that distance. One of the owners was extremely rude and told us that the table we were assigned was the only option, and if we didn't like it, we should leave. This was the worst experience I've had in Montreal. As a Latin person, I expect to find some kindness like we are used to in our countries. The service was incredibly rude and offensive, especially given that the restaurant wasn't even busy.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The passion fruit pulled pork is out of this world and the pabellon empanadas were also fantastic. And don't even get me started on the YUCA FRIES. Venezuelan cuisine always impresses me.

If you are looking for some amazing food, but atmosphere (and the nice, freezing kind of air conditioning that I like) doesn’t matter to you, then this is the place. I had the beef and cheddar on corn bread, and a small cheese thing don’t remember the name of it and it was really awesome. The service was great, and the guy taking the order was very helpful. That’s a big plus when it’s a menu in French and I don’t speak French. There are downsides, though. The place is small, and far to warm for me; open doors and such are not my style. But that’s about it. I was quite pleased overall.

We come to Montreal for the food and this place didn’t disappoint. Stopped here for takeout and the chicken salad arepas were delicious. Will have to try other items on the menu when we’re back.
