Bidra med feedbackA friend of mine's ex recently opened a new Mexican restaurant, and I just so happen to be a huge fan of Mexican cuisine. Coincidentally, I also know a few friends who share the same love for Mexican food. So, on a freezing cold Sunday, Val, Lea, and I braved the cold and made our way to Agave on Laurier Ouest.
We visited Agave several times during our visit to Montreal. The food was very good and the service was wonderful. It is not often that a restaurant can be a highlight of the trip, but the friendliness at Agave made it one of ours.
We enjoyed a delicious Mexican dinner at this restaurant. My wife particularly enjoyed the ceviche, while we both savored the chicken fajitas. Though we found that there weren't enough fajitas themselves, the filling was quite flavorful. However, our only issue was with the waitress, who brought my wife a water and a mojito without checking if I wanted anything. It seemed like she didn't notice me at all.
A nice Mexican restaurant with good food, service and atmosphere. I had the soup and the chicken fajitas and both surpassed expectations. The soup tortilla was rich in flavour and was a tomato cheese broth with Mexican spices and shreds to tortilla. The fajitas where...also good the everything fresh and home made including the bread.
I finally decided to visit Agave after a few years of contemplation. The decor was basic and somewhat outdated in my opinion, lacking the Mexican charm and warmth I expected. The food was disappointing, with stale nachos and main dishes that were just average and not very flavorful. I ordered the veggie fajitas, hoping for zucchini and mushrooms, but found only a few in a pool of red and green peppers. The rice and mashed black beans were delicious, but the guacamole was just okay. Overall, the experience was hit or miss. The service was friendly and good, but nothing I ate convinced me to return for more.
