Bidra med feedbackInteresting place, the main attraction is a section with a transparent floor to see part of a tunnel built in the 70s by the liberty movement Tupamaros. Food is good, lots of options... We tried risotto and fish (catch of the day), and they were good. We didn't make it to desserts, but they looked good, too.
Went there with my boyfriend, was a found on Google maps, I was kind of surprised of the place itself since I had never heard of it before. I’ve learnt in the hard way not to just walk-in places in Montevideo since most of the time you will be disappointed. This place was not bad. Service: We went a Thursday night and there was only one waiter, there were a few tables but I got the sense it was a little bit too much for one person only, since we had to wait for the check for around 20 min. Besides that, it was fast once they received us, the food and drinks came out surprisingly fast out of the kitchen. (10min-15min after we ordered) Food: My boyfriend ordered “entraña” which was fenomenal (as fenomenal as I didn’t want to eat mine). My only complain is this dish came with roasted potatoes and they weren’t fresh, by saying this I mean they were either frozen or reheated to be served. If this place is as good as Google and other platforms review showed ...HOW is it that they dare to serve not fresh vegetables? I would expect this from a cheap place, but not a place like this one at all... but... again not surprised as is an Uruguayan restaurant. I ordered the fruits of the sea Risotto, since it was the recommendation of the night. I wouldn’t really recommend it at all, it tasted like white rice mixed with cream, it didn’t have Risotto sense at all. My recommendation ? Always stick with beef. (I learned later thatthis is a recognized place for its meat, so I guess the joke is on me). Drink: Vodka coco was our drink of the night since we didn’t feel of drinking, but it was very good. Recommended. They do have a very good wine menu, including Bouza wines which I’m particularly a fan of. Conclusion: Good place, good location, good vibe but stick with beef as main choice of food. I really liked the historical context of the place, I was amazed to know this placed with its túnel excited.
The place has a good interior and ambience.. Variety of parilla options available and a lively crowd. You will often find queue to enter the place on weekends.. Staffs are decent, but sometime delays in responding during rush hours. They have room for improvement in that.
Location is great, ambiance is very good. Service: not so good. We ordered a tabla with different small amount foods. A traditional thing here in Uruguay. The milanesas were burned and not balanced in the food (too much fried and cheese items) The waitress never come, we had to go to the front and request the menu chart and later on the desserts. No good. Having said that, the place was full. I enjoyed the little piece of recent history they have (a never used tunnel for the tupamaros scape from the then jail, now fancy shopping center) and the decoration.
Added bacon to my chicken skewers. I don’t eat pork for ethical reasons and yet here they put it on my plate despite no mention of it on the menu. My chicken was coated in the taste and therefore revolting to me.
