Found this little gem by google searching ‘great food nearby‘. We were staying at the Eurostars Roma Aeterna. The reviews weren’t wrong. Don’t be put off by the street or drawn into the other restaurants on the way there....the food was incredible. We all had a Greek pita wrap. Staff spoke fluent English and helped us to adjust the set menu to meet the needs of our two kids. Large beer was only €3. Pitas were below €5. Seating is limited but we were lucky enough to get a table which seated four of us. Others took their food straight out. It was continuously busy but wait time was good. Highly recommended this little place.
The food was great. Had a souvlaki maiale. Closest thing you're going to get to a Greek souvlaki in Rome. You can order to go or sit inside as they have many side tables and barstools at the window for people watching. Staff was friendly place was nice and clean. There's a variety of options on the menu even vegetarian options.
Kalapà is a Greek restaurant located in the heart of the Roman quarter of the pig. Have you ever heard of the stuffed potato? you can not have crossed the aroma and have not tasted the famous kalapà kumpir potato. are large open potatoes and baked in the oven filled with what you prefer. there are the classic stuffed with cheese and ham and the most particular ones with bologna, ragù, with tuna, with pumpkin cream and cheese. There are a lot of geese. for those who prefer to taste the pita will remain equally satisfied because they are all really delicious. the place is very small and offers only some stools and some meters as seats but by now the tradition wants that once ordered and taken its potato or pita that is obtained directly from the sidewalk, on the edge of the road. inside the premises you will also find a fountain of drinking water in case you do not want to drink anything else. try at least once in life.
We ordered the vegan vegetarian pitas and were not disappointed! It's a tiny place, so we took our food to go :
