Glad to discover another nice Taiwanese restaurant around LA. Very hospital staff. The beef noodle soup is certainly their specialty unique thick al dente noodles, very tender tendons (chunks of beef not so much), interesting broth with herbal accents. Impressed by their shrimp pork dumplings the pork portion was probably fulfilled by the filing of XLB on the menu, which made the dumplings very pleasantly juicy; just wished the wrapper were thinner. In all, don’t expect anything extraordinary, but great value and certainly above peers.
We got the pan fried buns (10/10) very juicy, pan fried pork and chive dumplings (8/10) tasty juicy but could be more flavorful, pork XLB (3/10) not flavorful nor much soup, bok choy (7/10) it was fine but kinda greasy. I'd love to try noodles next time. I wish they had more drink choices like soy milk. Also would be nice to have some cold dish like a cucumber salad or something. Went on a Sunday afternoon and was seated quickly but then there were a lot of ppl lined up when we left.
Great small spot next to a grocery store. The spicy beef noodle soup is fantastic. The fried calamari is spicier than you think it will be. Be sure to get a big mug of their tea or milk tea.
I have tasted the braised beef noodles here. The beef and tendons are generous and the taste is very good. It does not taste like MSG, and the xiaolongbao is not bad. Unfortunately, the frozen milk tea has no tea flavor, which is as fragrant as the Hong Kong-style milk tea. Quite a distance.
