Bidra med feedbackThe buzzing terrace on Montejaque's beautiful main square is a great place for simple and great value tapas and a cold beer! We shared chorizo in red wine, a potato dish and tortilla, all of which was delicious. Antonio is the perfect host.
This is one of several good bars on the plaza in Montejaque but this is the one myself and my friends always gravitate to. Antonio and his wife, Annie do a great job. She makes all of the tapas both hot and cold and Antonio with the sometimes help of his son Juan serves. Antonio always has a smile on his face and even with his very limited English and my lousy Spanish we make ourselves understood. Make sure you try a gin and tonic with tonica Azul. My first stop when I arrive in Montejaque!
Tables on the square. Good list of basic tapas, drinks prices attractive. Friendly service from owners. Locals dropping in on Saturday afternoon. Nice place to relax, absolutely no pretensions!
At the end of the road from Ronda through Benaojan and (if you want) through to Grazamela/Zahara you find a small square with a fountain in Montajaque. This bar serves nice tapas and is run by an older couple. Note: you will not be able to park on the square, so park at the beginning of the village and walk to the top of the street and the village hall where you find this square and bar.
Pleasant bar in a village square with great tapas and Cruzcampo on draft. Great place for watching the world go by and seeing village life at its best.
