Bidra med feedbackAs a regular holiday visitor to this cafe it epitomises it’s name- the central bar. It’s in the centre, it’s a multi functional bar, small pizzeria, gelateria, snack bar, breakfast bar, sports bar, locals bar and just a bar for everyone. Everyone passes through here and it is wonderful to relax, drink and observe central town life in action. I love it and everything it stands for! Long may it remain as it is and what it stands for in Italian life and culture.
It's a hot Saturday afternoon and we decide on Montefalco for the evening. As the shadows lengthen we walk up into the old town to do some exploring. Most of the bars and restaurants are open but empty as it's still early but Caffe del Corso has several customers. 30 minutes later we walk back to del Corso and order a beer and wine. The proprietor speaks little english but alcohol is the international language. The drinks are served ice cold. Two rounds later we have settled in, enjoying the tourists and local wander about in the early evening. Our host bring out a large plate of mixed tapas ? Gratis, you drink here, tapas is free he tells me. Anyway they have a great range of gelato as well. Topped off a wonderful visit to Montefalco.
Very much where the locals go. There is a bar, a coffee section and they sell gelato. They don't speak English as their trade is mostly Italian. Many places nearby also have the same thing but it is not on the main piazza so it is quiet and you can watch the world go by.
