Sushi One Spot - Montclair

Wevhave always came here and enjoyed it. Well recently we went to a highly recommended place in san dimas(won't say any name) and theirs was warm, service was bad and slow , and salmon was fishy so it reminded us how amazing the food is here at one spot and what great service we get everytime even when they are busy. I don't think we will try another AYCE again.Oh and i forgot to mention they have gluten free soy sauce and dye free wasabi.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free sauce and dye free wasabi.Downside.....no sashimi AYCE if on a diet

I like the restaurant and the Food they sell which is Sushi more and I like the environment too.

Overall I have more good things than bad things to say about these restaurant. I am going to get the bad stuff out of the way but please stick with me until the end to get a full assessment of this place.CONS: some pieces of fish were ridiculously fishy borderline inedible. I noticed this specifically with the fried Oyster and the sea scallop. The eel and yellowtail were not quite as bad but was definitely more on the fishy side.PROS: if I could I would give this location a 3.5 star rating but I rounded it up for the reasons listed below1. Not all the menu items were bad. We enjoyed most of the salmon options. The jen jen, spider crab, and spicy scallop were delicious. Also. I loved the potato shrimp it is the first time I've seen that menu item and it came out piping hot and it was a nice contrast in flavor to all the sush2. The fish to rice ratio is fantastic. Big strips on fish on small balls of rice and I rarely see such a great ratio at an ayce restaurant3. Service is TOP NOTCH the people there are so nice, efficient, and do an excellent job explaining how their AYCE works. There is no time limit and they offer more than 3 rounds if you are able to eat that much4. $1 sake and beerOverall, I wouldn't recommend this place for the best sushi BUT for a fun time catching up and hanging out with friends I would be down to come back

My girlfriends and I really enjoyed the sushi here. The portions are large too.
