Bidra med feedbackThe food here is absolutely amazing. My go to is the Italian combo and it is delicious. However, it's always a horrible visit when dining in and dealing with the cashier with the curly hair. She is flat out nasty and rude for absolutely no reason. Even taking an order (which is her job) is a inconvenience to her. Constantly complaining about working. Not something you want to hear while you are trying to enjoy lunch. Going to rudy's I always hope i can miss out on her being there but she is always there sadly. Great food which is a bummer, hopefully they can find some new staff because she for sure doesn't help the business.
I haven't been to a Rudy's since I was a little kid as the one in Harmar was a favorite of my dad. I feel like the sandwiches, fries, and mayo had distinct tastes that I remember well. I went in and got my usual from way back (cheese steak and fries), and it tasted almost exactly the way I remembered. The sandwich was well packed with steak, the bread had a slight toast in it and it was decent as far as bread goes. not my favorite sub spot, but I think it was a very solid sandwich that I'd order again without much thought. I ordered a side of large fries and they offer traditional cut or shoes-string. I went with the traditional cut and I noticed that they were priced than I'd normally expect fries to be (5 dollars and some change), but they gave a nice sized portion and I liked the cook on them. They were salted pretty well and without asking, they gave me a cup of their ketchup and I completely forgot that they have a really unique ketchup. I'm not sure if they make it there, or if it's just a different brand. I'm on the fence on whether I like it or not, but I appreciate that they try something different. I feel like this is a good spot to get a sandwich and I'm definitely planning on back again, most likely to get a sub for my Mom as she has fond memories of this place and didn't know this location existed.
I love this place. Their fries are so good. I love their subs. I wish they delivered. I've enjoyed everything I've gotten from here.
I used to go here all the time when I was a kid. Hard to believe this place is still going strong all these years later. Friday night 6 pm, not very busy but a steady trickle of customers. We got the classic cheesesteaks and fries, and they were absolutely delicious. Super soft and crunchy bread, with perfectly cooked steak. Super thinly sliced onions and tomatoes with finely shredded lettuce and a lot of mayonnaise. French fries that are so super thin and perfectly cooked you just can't stop eating them. The subs and french fries reminded me a lot of Uncle Sam's in Squirrel Hill, only much better. Not quite as good as Peppi's in the Strip, but pretty closeUnfortunately the whole restaurant is absolutely filthy, like they haven't even pretended to clean it. And one of the cooks in the back was so obnoxious, carrying on and yelling, swearing the whole time we were there. So incredibly obnoxious and rude. The other people who work here have zero personality. They're not rude, but they're not friendly at all. Normally I don't care about any of that. All I care about is the food. But when you're eating in a restaurant that is so filthy, it's hard to enjoy it, because you're just assuming you're gonna get food poisoning. And when you hear the cooks carrying on and acting like total assholes in the kitchen behind you, it really disturbs you from trying to relax and enjoy your food. Also it reminds you that they are very unprofessional, so the way they're handling your food is probably equally unprofessional. You just assume you're absolutely getting food poisoning the next day. So I would only recommend this place if you don't care that it's filthy and the people are unprofessional and rude because the cheesesteaks are pretty damn good.
My friend's daughter was selling fundraiser coupons, so we cashed them in. This was the first time trying this sub shop, and we will be going back. The subs are fresh and made to order. We had the Italian and Turkey subs along with onion rings. I was able to get three servings out of my sub, while my family made two servings. We made our order take out, but there are tables for eat in.
