Sadly yes being a server and once bartender I know drinks shouldn?t and are not suppose to be take off but a little effort to satisfy the patron was suppose to happen. Or even the manager coming out to say I?m sorry as well. But these drinks were unsatisfactory. Yet I?ll still have to pay for them. I?ll still tip the server as he did nothing wrong. But hospitality is maybe what I?m looking for and I didn?t get that ? I?ve had wayyyyyyy better drinks here. Disappointed
We ate at Walk-On?s for the first time in a while and it did not disappoint. We started with the fried alligator and boom boom shrimp which were delicious. I had the Cajun ribeye with blackened shrimp on top and it was a fantastic cut of meat cooked medium rare. We had one pint of beer each and the drink menu was very diverse. The raspberry lemonade was a big hit. We enjoyed the lax atmosphere as well as environment fit for ease of conversation. This is a well ran Walk-On?s and you will not be disappointed!
Going to the restaurant itself is great, and I've never had a bad experience. Ordering online however is a straight scam. After ordering the pasta alfredo I was presented with what one could only assume was once in a Michelinas or Hormel microwaved box. The portion weighed out came to roughly 11oz of pasta. The chicken breast that was $4 extra weighed in a 1.12oz. So, 12oz of microwaved dinner quality food for a solid $15 plus tip. I wouldn't even put the dish I received on the kids menu. Such a shame- I like going there, but this may have just killed it. Note: This wasn't the delivery driver's mistake or anything, this was 100% on the cooks/management.
The food itself here isn 't bad, but the service is garbage. We placed a huge pick up order in May for curbside. Curbside because this is a big order and it 's raining. I arrive. Wait 20 minutes after checking in for our pickup... Nothing. I finally call and they tell me, Oh, we don 't come outside when it 's raining. Excuse me? I 've picked up here before when it was raining? You guys didn 't think to tell me TWENTY minutes ago when I checked in? You didn 't think to tell me when I placed the order FOR CURBSIDE?So I get our food back to the office. They messed up my order completely. I call the restaurant. The manager assures me, after explaining my messed up order and the rain debacle, that he would place a gift certificate for future use to be picked up. Great, fine.I go to pick up the voucher one day. No go. They say it 's impossible to do a gift certificate like that. That I have to order the same food they messed up again instead of getting a voucher I could use to come back with my family one day.I 've reached out to Walk Ons about this. I 've sent more than one complaint in. I have NOT ONCE got a reply a call, an email, anything. That 's fine. Our office orders out pretty regularly for up to 20 people. We 'll take our business somewhere else.
Jacob L was our waiter, and he actually brought me well-heated gumbo that wasn’t just lukewarm! He also seems to enjoy people and serving his tables. Atmosphere was a bit too noisy to hear well enough to visit. But overall was a nice experience.Food: 5/5
