Bidra med feedbackCharming local restaurant with friendly service and a nice atmosphere on the terrace. Typical SW France menus and reasonable selection of wines and cocktails. We had a very pleasant dinner.
Lunch was fantastic. Stephane was very welcoming. We all enjoyed the menu of the day. Goat cheese starter and even found me some gluten free bread.
Decent food. Steak particularly good. OK salads - nothing special. Service very slow. Children's menu came with very (very) small portion of fish (hake) - it looked like they had dropped one and cut the other in half... But they did at least cook another portion for our boys to share. As per the title - definitely a tourist place...
There were seven of us looking for a pleasant lunch before a stroll round Monpazier and TripAdvisor recommended Bistrot 2 and what a a good choice that turned out to be.The restaurant is housed in a solid stone building opposite the main gate of the old bastide town of Monpazier and outside the tables are set among a grove of wisteria which must be spectacular in flower and is impressive and shady in leaf.It was obviously popular so in we went and we enjoyed a lovely, tasty meal with our one vegetarian so well catered for that at least two others also opted for that range of options. Not I though with a succulent piece of pork with a piquant barbecue sauce but all of us were happy and a carafe of cool rose was an excellent accompaniment.
We booked a table for nine people seven days before visiting. On the day it was raining hard so we were seated inside. Everything was perfect. service great, food fantastic. we had a very enjoyable time. Monpazier is quickly becoming one of our favourite places.
