Hen Chickens - Monmouthshire

Seriously nice food in an off-beat pub in the centre of Abergavenny. In the summer you can sit outside and watch town life go by in the sunshine, in the winter sit inside by the log fire and warm your toes after a morning shopping in the indoor market. Friendly staff and a reasonable menu with nearby parking make this an ideal stop at the end of a busy morning or the start of the evening before visiting the Theatre. There are plenty of places to eat in Abergavenny but for a relaxed meal in an old-style pub that is bang up to date you can't go far wrong here.

Friendly warm and a true local pub food to a very high standard warm and tasty and a nice pint and a lovely ambiance highly recommend

So we’ve just had the fish finger sandwiches (yes I’m a grown man) but absolutely awesome, they buy cod and then make there own fish fingers, lovely fresh bread and a few chips on the side, you have to try it, lovely, thank you

Excellent meal and great price I had the fries with chicken chilli sandwich £8 and my husband the steak £12 both were lovely meals and really tasty and plenty of food, lovely staff too ,thankyou be back soon , ps flacky paint bugged me lol

Such a lovely pub with a welcoming reception. Plenty of drinks deals highly recommended. Will definitely be returning.
