Schlossbräu Mondsee

We loved our stay! we had a two-storey room with views of the courtyard. all the employees were very helpful. we loved to spend time with the sea that was only a few minutes away. the free breakfast was provided by a restaurant and it was great. we were there during a heat wave, but for the luck the air conditioning worked in our room. the city was so sweet and colorful with picturesque architecture.

We came and were kindly greeted. we parked the car for 10 euro per day connected to the hotel. we have an upgrade to a jr. suite that was nice, a little more space for the few days stay. it was a...duplex suite with the living room area at the top, which for guests who spend more time in their rooms, so we are not necessary to use it as we are all day to dinner. it should have been a newly renovated (room 336, but we mentioned at check-out that the new etage was ssssoou squeaky / crunchy. by every step sounded like under the tile wood look floor there was no insulation. as if sand or something scratch around every step. in the evening and especially in the night it was annoying. because during the day we were gone, but I always wondered and felt like the room among us was also heard. I mention the room number.... hoping something will be done. equipment. bad shower cap, cotton/swab (1× for 3 days stay . that was all! apropos dinner we arrived on a Saturday and the hotel restaurant was closed. good thanks there was a fantastic restaurant over the garden. schlossbraü mondsee. Breakfast... very disappointed. the speck on Sunday morning looked like he was cooked on Friday or even on Saturday. laying in its fat and more than burned or crispy. the same speck was my opinion after (and I love speck was served on Monday and Tuesday of course. just reheated. the fried eggs under the heating lamp. the edges were cold. only the middle was warm and so I asked for 'fresh' roasted eggs. no. breakfast service .could be improved and I had a table reserved to breakfast as we have 3 breakfast there and did not want to look for a table...it was not reserved . no! everything in all I gave it 4 stars for the location...parking.cleanliness... friendly recipeist. comfortable room. restaurant .is highly recommended. everything else can be improved by management.

Alles war so wie erwartet, das ambiente war wunderschön und der garten lädt zurm romantischen spazierengehen ein

Am Tag zuvor hatte ich einen bestimmten Tisch ausgewählt und reserviert. Als wir kamen war dieser aufgrund eines "Kommunikationsproblemes" innerhalb des Personals bereits vergeben. Wir bekamen einen gleichwertigen, allerdings ist mir das in einem Restaurant dieser Klasse noch nie passiert > 1 Stern Abzug. Den 2. Stern Abzug für ein eher mäßiges Essen, die Vorspeise ohne jede Finesse, die Beilagen zum Lamm sehr mäßig. Service an sich war gut. Das Beste war der Wein.

Zur Begrüßung ein Glas Prosecco und eine Vorspeisenplatte (diverse Salami, Gemüsesticks, Käse, Brot) da waren wir erst mal überrascht (positiv), die Speisenauswahl war ausreichend und es wurde frischer Fisch aus dem Mondsee als Empfehlung gegeben. Die Vorspeisen waren herrlich!!!! Hübsch fürs Auge und wunderbar vom Geschmack. Das Hauptgericht (Fisch) war sehr gut gemacht, so richtig mediterran einfach-köstlich! Der empfohlene Wein hatte auch sehr gut gepasst. Alles in allem ein sehr netter Abend. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt sind die 3 € pro Gedeck (in Italien ist es pane e coperto), allerdings für Österreich doch eher unüblich, steht zwar ganz unten auf der Speisekarte, wird allerdings öfter Anlass zu Diskussionen sein.
