Some of dishes were very nice cod pie, fried fish asa starter) and some not too good like the octopus, it was too oily and the cream brule wasn't good at all). The service was super. The atmosphere very nice

We had lunch at this amazing restaurant and it couldn't be better! It was full of people but I was not surprised since the food was so good. We had the moelas to begin with and they were great. Then we had the roasted octopus with potatoes and it was divine, it was really well cooked! For desert we had the most delicious and rich chocolate mousse. If you're ever in Mondim de Basto, I highly recommend Casa da Cainha for a nice and typical portuguese meal!

If you want to taste traditional portuguese food this is a perfect place!! If you are portuguese (like me) and want to taste food that reminds you of old home made food this is the spot! If you like a good cow steak this is the place! Another hint, go for the house wine. It is very good! Service very nice Atmosphere very cosy! The picture is a traditional desert also delicious! !
