Glen Iris Pantry - Monash

First impressions are important. the place looks very welcoming until they go into the door and wait and wait to be sitting. if they have a sign on the front to wait to stay, then perhaps the workers have to. be attentive to the people who wait there. kind of, I've been wondering if I could sit somewhere. then waited a long time to serve, so I got the attention of the staff. they are all walking around youth, but do not look around to see when customers are ready to order. some carry a clean plate or a glass or a plate, but do not want to actually serve. eating was ok, no butter for toast, until a nice person asked me if I wanted something? she saw the only friendly waitress at the place. I would not recommend a friend of mine

We went to lunch and were greeted by a friendly waiter. we had to find a waiter to order our food, although there was only one other table that was occupied at the time. the avocado was so hard that it was very difficult to cut and unpalatable. the chips were also warm and tasty as if they had been eating out for some time. this was mentioned to the waiting staff they answered, there were no avocados anymore and a nice day. there was no offer to replace uneaten eating, or offer a discount. it was a very disappointing experience.

Traditionally, when they buy a business, they do this for one of two reasons. it can own a monopol in a specific product or range, aging can have a unique peculiarity a unique thema that only it offers. the old glen iris pantry was. no monopol, as the number of other coffee shops shown in a two- to three-minute drive. what it had, however, was a unique personality, this personality and a hung up feeling of the community that we are driven by the former owners chris and fil. it was literally the place where everyone knew their names. Unfortunately, this unique character was replaced by a cut and paste corporate model coffee shop. it is now the type of coffee shop better suited for a place where young men sportman rolls and waistcoats sit around the type of conditioner they use in their bart. while young women post photos of themselves, pretending to eat on social media. sadly long away is the community-minded café, which offered a welcome sanctity break for all in the opposite during the various COVID locks. It is also interesting that during the time between closing and reopening the price of my standard breakfast rose 50% however, some days it is up to 50% and some days it is up to 60.% this variable price is always a source of interest. where the service was once fast and efficient, it is now laborious and laborious, as entries are either forgotten or incorrectly filled. the old hands left by the original Pantry work could try to keep something from what was there, but unfortunately they are obviously defeated by the new workflow systems that were put in place. the new staff seemed little to know how hospitality works. Luckily, glen iris is very well served by caffes. however, none of them are the same as the old pantry

Excellent brunch menu with options for everyone. really nice coffee and service was great when considering how busy the place is.

Over-priced mediocre food with terrible service from friendly staff. Extremely slow service requiring a formal request for menus. 30 minutes after giving our order, we asked for an ETA on our food and had to reorder because they had somehow forgotten to process it! It...took >1 hr in total so I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re pushed for time. The food was ok but plates priced in the mid $20s should be seasoned properly (zero salt in our food). We were offered salt and pepper without prompting but this never arrived. The coffee was good.
