Bidra med feedbackMain manager, who i believe was named Dave or David, was very rude and unwelcoming. All other staff were lovely including a very nice young man who was very helpful. Used to go here a lot but after this i will not be returning.
So pleased this village traditional non gastro) pub has reopened . Clean and dog friendly with welcoming log burner and staff . Just had the best Sandwich I've had in ages . Great value and so nice not to have to HAVE a Sunday roast just because its Sunday
Great pub Friendly staff . New decor nice. Excellent fish and chips. Beer well kept. Wish they would get the fire going. Toilets very clean
In all my years of visiting pubs in the UK, I have never experienced such disinterested, unfriendly and unhelpful service as in this pub. We had booked a table, but the bored-looking girl in childish plaits at the bar didn 't believe us, saying she didn 't have any bookings that day, and accusing us of mistakenly booking the other pub a few yards away. We ordered food and drinks. I chose a ham cheese toastie, and politely asked if I could have some onion in it. Madam at the bar turned to a very scruffy-looking man (presumably the chef?? slouching at a table, and asked Is that OK? He sulkily turned his back and gave a slight nod. I said He doesn 't look very happy about it , whereupon Madam smirks Well he said it 's OK ... ! Having sat down again, we decided we didn 't like their attitude, so cancelled our order and went to the nearby Grumpy Mole, which was fantastic, and (unlike the Royal Oak buzzing with life and a wonderful welcome.
Visited to grab some food and we were not disappointed. Food was well presented and very tasty, good portions and excellent value for money. We had scampi and chips, and ham egg and chips. The ham was of a high quality and very tasty. Staff are polite and buzzing around keeping tables clean. I recommend this pub as a good place to eat.
