Bidra med feedbackA great country pub with a local feel, I had really hoped to be giving this 5 stars. We went for a family meal in the bar Friday 9th February. It was very busy, the only tables available were in the bar., when I booked 2 weeks prior. The staff quickly found our table and gave us menus. On a table in the bar you order your drinks and food at the bar. Our starters came quickly and were very tasty. Our main courses, 1 steak burger and chips, halibut and a pie. The food was Luke warm and fairly mediocre in flavour sadly so I wouldn’t return for food which is a real shame.
Came here for Sunday lunch with some family, absolutely delicious food, couldn't fault it. Huge range of Gluten Free options and Vegan roast was delicious. Service was friendly as we booked ahead we had a comfortable table. Was quite busy, but not too crowed. Dogs are allowed inside the pub area. Looked like a lovely garden, just not the weather to use it. Recommend.
Roast dinner is a joke. Paying for the mix and getting I slice of overcooked beef (twice) and a big lump of pork fat. £26 is an embarrassment. Will never go back.
One question I have before you here… who has a roast without Yorkshire pudding! Under cooked roast potatoes, 1 carrot on the plate. Red cabbage was half descent, don’t see that often!
Have visited many times we were very disappointed on this occasion, when we were there to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Firstly, we noted the price, which was above similar restaurants we have frequented recently. Then we had to wait an hour for our meals. When they arrived, two of the five roast roast dinners were nearly cold. Whilst the meals were replaced there was little sympathy and one of the replacements was not much hotter. Having waited so long, my wife just accepted it. Not impressed.
