Landgasthaus Birkenhof - Modautal

This restaurant and guesthouse is often the final meeting point after a a leisurely ramble in the nearby woods. During the day, one can often find groups of elderly hikers sampling the cakes or the Odenwälder Vesper (snack) specialities. However, the menue carries a few surprises besides the expected dishes like rumpsteak with onions and schnitzels of various kins, there might also be a salad with wild mushrooms and wild boar bacon and other delicacies depending on the season. The holiday flats or rooms are a bit dated, but not expensive at all; service is friendly but never obtrusive.
