The Shack - Moate

The fish and chips here is the best and its so fresh. Be prepared to queue for a while to get a table but it's worth it.

One of the best restaurants in Athlone. Delicious food my favourite one, the duck) , good prices, and wonderful people. We were in Athlone for a month and every time we went, the food was great and the service managed our large group about 20) perfectly, especially Lindsey, who was our waitress most of the days.

Went to the shack last Friday for some afternoon lunch. I was delighted with my meal as always in the shack. There's fantastic choice for everyone and I am always torn between the chicken curry, beef and chicken. The lady that served me was excellent and provided a friendly service. The food comes very quickly and they will bring out anything else you ask for with no fuss. Great service.

This restaurant is a wonderful spot to catch up and have a good time with family and friends. It has the classic atmosphere of an Irish pub, excellent service, and delicious desserts and food. I will definitely be returning frequently with my friends.

My wife and I had a fantastic meal at this restaurant today. The pork belly was the best I've ever had, and my wife loved the fish dish. The staff were friendly, and we highly recommend this genuine establishment.
