The Longhouse Restaurant and Bar

I had the opportunity to stay at Sacred for a 3-night yoga retreat. We dined at Longhouse for all our meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each meal was incredibly fresh and delicious. There were 15 of us, and everyone had positive feedback. I will be returning to Mission Beach in a few weeks and am looking forward to dining at Longhouse again.

The ambiance is beautiful and the staff is friendly. I had both seafood and meat dishes and the quality was excellent. The calamari was very tender and the steak was delicious.

Was looking for something a bit different, I know this is a beautiful setting one of my favourite spots.....however the food was a let down. We took visitors tonight and it was very embarrassing. Lots of other options and beautiful spots for a meal in...Mission Beach

Took nearly an hour to get a tough steak with no taste. The Salad rocked and was one of the nicest side salads I have had for a long time. When you have a beautiful view as this restaurant has the seating arrangements should never...have your back to it, we changed the positions of the chairs so we could both enjoy the sunset.

We had dinner in the Longhouse. For entre we had Coconut prawns with dipping sauces they were magnificant, for mains we ordered Mushroom pasta and Thai vegitarian curry. We also ordered a bottle of red wine. Unfortunately the wine was on the higher side of...the price range. When the meals arrived, the Mushroom pasta dish was substantial, the pasta was perfect and the flavours were very nice, however the lack of mushrooms was disappointing. Also the sauce was on the heavy side. The dish was unable to be finished, so big needed more mushrooms and less pasta. The Thai curry was half a bowl of steamed rice just globbed onto the plate with a very small amount of vegetables and sauce. It tasted Ok, but I did have a laugh with 2 (indian) poppadoms on the side. At $19 for the pasta and $18 for the Thai dish, we feel it was overpriced and disappointing. The bar service was fine, polite and friendly. The Longhouse is very open to the elements and a cold windy night would be very unpleasant. Luckily our night was fine, however there were a lot of night flying bugs around. We will not rush back.
