L'antico Palazzo - MINERVINO MURGE

We turned up here at 2.30 on a grey and windy Sunday afternoon in our hiking kit after a morning 's walking, when Minervino Murge was looking pretty much 'shut '. The restaurant was full of local families in their Sunday best, already well into their big lunches and we really just wanted something small to put us on till dinner time. We got friendly Italian service at it 's best, and a great set of about 10 different antipasti, all of which were really delicious. Nobody seemed in the least phased that we didn 't want to eat properly, and though we weren 't allowed to leave with out a limoncello the bill came to 15 Euros, so great value for money. Owner and staff were really friendly and the place had a lovely atmosphere on the first floor of an old house.We were sorry we didn 't have chance to come back and eat a bigger meal! Definitely worth a visit.(And in spite of the weather, we liked Minervino Murge too. Italy at its best.

Entered this first floor restaurant not knowing what to expect- were taken in hand by the gracious host,ate the antipasti and pastas of the day,all house made.Everything was delicious,and enjoyed the atmosphere of a typical family restaurant.

This was amazing. The owner is so nice. The food is so good. And it feels like you're eating in your own home. Best in Minervino. Just let him serve you and you'll be happy!

A lovely local lady helped us find this restaurant on our long drive through Puglia. The owner host was charming and friendly and his son was also very helpful. The food was typical of Puglia and delicious especially the French Italian beans! Grazie! Ciao, Ruth and Jon (UK)

This restaurant just inside the Centro Storico is a little gem. Old fashioned Italian in beautiful rooms that were previously the home of the Contessa Palazzo Di Contessa . We arrived at lunchtime and one or two tables were occupied. No menu was offered but the most delightful antipasti was served followed by a pasta verdure. A half litre of vino Bianco locale, beer and water, total bill €25. Service and food was to a very high standard, the rooms were air conditioned and very clean. Highly recommended for local Italian fare.
