Bidra med feedbackWe decided to start camping seasonally at Green Acres last year around this time. The previous owners, Wade and Barb, were very accommodating and allowed us to store our trailer at the park for the winter. However, they sold the park over the winter and new owners took over. At first, the new owners were friendly, but that quickly changed. Two weeks before the season ended, we were told we had 14 days to vacate the property with no prior warnings for any rule violations. During the season, we encountered several negative experiences. Visitors we brought to the park were not greeted in a friendly manner at the office and were met with rude and unprofessional comments. We followed all rules, but were criticized for minor things like the length of our firewood. The owners openly complained to us about other campers, which we found inappropriate and unprofessional. The washrooms and shower house were closed for the season, so we had to use our own facilities and request pump outs for our tanks, which were often not done as scheduled. Our interactions with the owners were always negative and condescending. The park itself was not well-maintained, with overflowing garbage and recycling areas, potholed roads, and dangerous conditions in the kids park and dock. Some campers drove recklessly through the park, ignoring the speed limit. The size and amenities of the campsites varied greatly, with some having lake views and plenty of space, while others were cramped and located in undesirable locations. Overall, we do not recommend Green Acres for seasonal or overnight camping and suggest exploring other, more enjoyable options on the island.
Trailer lots are very narrow and you are very close to your neighbors. .. Went to use washroom which were all locked. Was told that we had to use our own toilet inside of rv, which they claimed we would have been told upon booking....Then charged $25 to use waste disposal. Unpleasant staff, not helpful. Not recommended
We had a very enjoyable stay at Green Acres. The owners Jackie and Jeff were very friendly and hardworking. There are 22 campsites for trailers and tents that face the water with beautiful sunrises. Fresh baking and freshly picked corn is available in the main...office. The new owners are doing a great job improving their newly acquired campground.
The only redeeming quality for this campground is the view IF you get a site by the beach. Otherwise, it is a frustrating and gauging experience. They advertise having laundry facilities, but they are locked. We asked all day if we could get in and...various disinterested and inexperienced teens said “someone has the key, keep checking back”. After finally catching one of the owners at 7:00pm, she said the laundry room is only for seasonal campers! So frustrating and we had timed our laundry to do a load at Green Acres during a 2 week trip. The owner also unceremoniously told me to drive to Little Current to do my laundry. I explained this would be too difficult to unplug the RV and drive the whole family to Little Current to wait for me to do laundry. She shrugged and didn’t care. They also locked their washrooms and showers, yet charged $30 for the dumping truck!!! Everywhere else charges $12 or less. They had 2 BBQs available for rent $10/day and a few pricy items to buy at the store. We also paid $8 for a bag of very soft wood. Lots of nickel and dime-ing, with very poor service. The dock is in terrible disrepair and the only activity is horseshoes if you can find them. These new owners are spoiling the good name of this establishment.
The new owner of this gorgeous campground is very rude, ignorant and head strong. I witnessed the new owner raise her voice to several people. While communicating with these individuals, she was yelling, shaking her finger and not allowing the individuals to speak. I asked...my children to go play so they didn't hear or watch this behavior. I felt sorry for the individuals, in my opinion, I think a great deal of the campers in the area heard her loud and clear. Being a witness to this rude and ignorant behavior made me think back to a child when mom or dad were giving me trouble. The owner has no social skills, no personality, no customer service skills and she thinks she can treat everyone around her like they are nothing. DOES she not realize, we campers overnight/weekenders pay her bills. WHY would we come back here?? Along with this bad situation, there were other issues with the campground the washrooms, shower room are locked so we all had to use the washroom in the trailer then she charged me an additional $25.00 for a pump out when the family was leaving! So, we had to pay it, as she didn't care what I had to say, so again being rude. Just to say, once we got home, we looked into other campgrounds on the Island guess what? ALL OTHER campgrounds are fully open washrooms, showers, pools, etc and for a lot cheaper I can dump my tank. OUR FAMILY WILL NOT GO BACK!!
