Bidra med feedbackDisclaimer: I haven’t tried everything here so the review isn’t fully encompassing of the coffee shop... Cool hipster place where you can get some studying done (for all students who go to Laurier to UW ; and they have one of the best London Fog teas I’ve tried. Veggie bagel sandwich isn’t all that special. The interior vibes are super chill with warm lighting, outlets for charging, plenty of desktop tables for tablets and what not (also pillows everywhere in the back . Staff is also super friendly and quick to get orders out : Other than that good coffee shop!
Settlement is one of my favourite coffee shops in KW. Make that 2 of my favourite coffee shops. Here in Waterloo, the seating is a bit tricky typically full in the main room, but there's another room at the back, a little cozy nook with several more tables for small groups. Sweet! Settlement gets my vote for best tea service: good quality selection of loose leaf tea, served in a press, with a timer so you know when to pour. Add your own milk to taste. Tea done right, unlike almost every chain coffee shop. Oh I ordered a waffle pic attached and the room filled with that fresh waffley griddle smell. Delicious.
Exceptional coffee, great staff, and great ambiance. In particular, this place has a cortado on the menu that the barista did a great job in crafting. The milk, foam, espresso ratio was spot on and I believe a well made cortado is a mark of a superior coffee shop. Also bought their holiday beans as a gift.
I went to Settlement Co. at around 5pm on December 18th and 3 words I have to describe the place are welcoming, unique and options. The pros: The decor/environment of the place is incredibly peaceful and energetic with the mix of wood and nature elements A lot of both classic and unique seating with benches and tables Lovely drink presentation with loose leaf tea coming in a french press and timer for when the tea will be ready and coffee coming in glass mugs Plenty of outlets everywhere, clearly encourage people to come and do work here The ONLY con of the place is just that I found it to be a bit expensive as I paid $4 for loose leaf tea that wasn't advertised as fair trade or anything but I also might've just missed a sign saying anything about that. Overall, this is a must stop cafe in Waterloo, especially if you are looking for a comfortable place to get some work done or chat with friends
I had the V60 pour over. Good service and nice atmosphere. I especially like how many of their drinks (including the tea) are served with a mug and carafe. But at over $5 for the pour over I was hoping to be wanting to buy a bag of their coffee afterwards.
