Bidra med feedbackThought the food and service were very good. Had the garlic shrimp but in my opinion they would have been better if peeled prior to cooking. Tasted good though. We had their unique egg roll and it was decent. For me there wasn't much taste involved but the texture and what I did taste was good. She had a shaken beef over dry noodles. Her dish was really good
Yikes how does this place have 4.5 stars? Maybe I ordered the wrong things..? To begin, we ordered spicy garlic chicken but got the spicy garlic shrimp instead. They fry the shrimp with the shell on. I personally dislike the texture of shrimp shells but the shells were very difficult to take off and the shrimp also lost a lot of the flavor when separated. The shrimp meat itself was also dry and stringy . The noodles in our pho were overcooked and the rare beef came EXTREMELY well-done.. The broth was underwhelming. I can think of many pho spots, especially in the San Jose area, that go far above and beyond what this place had to offer.
Wish I have found this place earlier because the two dishes I ordered are all so good, Shaking beef rice and beef stew. The cubed beef is so tender and cooked perfectly to my taste. The beef stew is so tender and yummy. I will definitely go back too try some other things.
An ok spot to get pho if you're at McCarthy Ranch. Beef broth is heavy on the anise/ 5spice taste and general consensus was they needed more brisket slices. Bean sprouts, basil, limes, jalapeños were fresh and surprisingly free from brown spots. Prices are comparable to our usual spots, but I'm always amazed at how expensive pho has become..
I saw Noodle Boss pop up a few times when they first opened, but there are so many new restaurants opening up in the Milpitas Square/McCarthy Ranch area that I hadn't had a chance to stop by until recently. Noodle Boss is located in the same section of the plaza as Banana Leaf, and they are next to Taqueria Los Cuñados. They weren't busy around 1pm on a Saturday, and my takeout order took 10 minutes or less to prepare. I tried their Vermicelli Bowl (w/Thịt Nướng/Grilled Pork, Chả Giò/Eggroll, $14.95, which was surprisingly good! The vermicelli noodles were fresh, and they gave a generous portion of grilled pork. The grilled pork was flavorful and cooked well, and the egg roll was also good. Recommended! I'll be back to try their rice plates and shaking beef. They had indoor dining available, a spacious outdoor patio area, and hand sanitizer. There was plenty of parking spots in this area of the plaza.
