Al Mercato Ristorante Burger Bar

We have been out of country for 10 days Just wanted a good old fashioned BURGER Recommended to us by the concierge we went across town to find this cool, great vibe, burger joint. Piled high with all the fixings, matched with fries it was wonderful Wish you could have joined us A real neighborhood kind of place filled with happy locals! Highly recommend

This place is split into a restaurant (with also a italo-american 49€, 5 courses, dinner tasting menu) and a burger bar, i tried the latter and it was simply awesome, not cheap (10€ base burger, 1 to 5 toppings, 3.5€ fries) but meat was really good, perfect fries and the place if very nice too. I will try the restaurant for sure.

Tiny burger bar (3/4 tables for 2 and bar seating for 3/4 , no reservations policy. When you get there they 'll tell you more or less the time you 'll have to wait cause you 'll have to wait! just remember to add 15/20 minutes more to the time they tell you. Our waiting time last Saturday for a party of 6 (our fault to be that many, I know was an hour, luckily the weather was nice and we were able to get some chips to nibble while waiting. We were sat in 2 tiny tables put together so we were super tight I can 't stress this enough, don 't come in more than 4, actually don 't come in more than 2! The place should be a temple of street food from different parts of the world with what allegedly is Milan 's best burger (too high expectations! so we ordered the burgers and 2 jalapeño poppers. First of all (and this is why I took half a star off , the jalapeño poppers were neither jalapeños, nor poppers, they were red peppers with almost no cheese, and some bread crums, even Burger King 's chilli cheese bites are better than these! The burgers: it 's nice that you can add ingredients to your burger (which costs 10 euro without any extra ingredients . I added cheddar cheese, avocado and jalapeño mayo (hopefully these were real jalapeños for a total of 14 euros for my burger, which is now acceptable in Milanese standards still 14 euros for a burger, ouch! Anyhow, the burger was huge, so tall that you had to squeeze it and take 2 bites to taste all ingredients (and careful with spilling . It was very good actually, but not my personal favorite. Staff is nice and they have a good bar selection. We had water, beers, 2 cocktails, 1 dessert and digestifs and our total went up to 30 euros per person... but the burgers were just 14 euros! that 's the other half star off!

After a disappointing lunch at a tourist trap with surprisingly high reviews, we were looking for something different. We were tired of Italian food and wanted to try a burger place. We found this cute little place with great ambiance and decoration. The food was amazing! The burger, fries, and short ribs were some of the best I've ever had, and I live in Los Angeles! The service was also excellent. We will definitely be back here next time we're in Milan.
