TOKS Restaurante - Miguel Hidalgo

We spent a day at Mexico City Airport and had a dinner and breakfast in Toks. We enjoyed the very friendly, pleasant service, the simple, good and very Mexican cuisine and the energetic ambience of the people who have a bite on board levels for work...and adventure. Staff work very hard and offer beautiful smiles. The simplest use of Spanish is appreciated, but menus and service are also available in English. We are now fans of this seemingly big and growing franchise. What is not about good service, good food and good prices.

Toks restaurants blasphemy refills it expensive alcohol bottles with cheap alcohol! During a visit from 22 November 2022, while we were at CDMX airport for lunch in Toks. With lunch, ordered a shot of 1800 Tequila, we got a shot of cheap whisky they claimed was...tequila. My girlfriend has been in hospitality for 20 years, last five in Mexico and knows her tequila! We pointed out our waitress of this “mistake”. She was literally angry and ripped the bread on the table and went away. We complained to another waitress, a third waiter came and poured directly from a 1800 tequila bottle and went away, again containing whisky! Not Tequila! We ate, paid our bill total with 20% gratuity, behind half a shot of whisky, sold as 1800 tequila. When we left, I approached the bartender and asked him to smell the shot he was shaking to prove what was in the 1800 bottle in fact whisky... he refused! Just staring at us and not saying a word. I said it three times: “no Tequila! Whiskey’. Bartender would stare only with a threatening look at his face! After I left, I took three steps back to the summit at the bartender and immediately called two employees who had a very quiet discussion. It was obvious that they ran a scam by refilling high-end bottles with cheap liqueur, then they sold it as the real thing! Someone had made a mistake pouring whiskey into an expensive tequila bottle. I wrote the Toks company offices by email and FB Messenger without reply. Do not trust Toks Restaurant at the airport of Mexico City!

We stopped for a coffee and waited for a customer. The coffee was good and the icing covered croissant was not bad, but not the best. Service is really good and the selection of foods look good solid Mexican dishes. I would stop...here for lunch also in the future, but it's not good food

I wanted to eat here, because it looks like the nicest place in the airport, but I got such an attitude from the hostess that I was turned off to the whole idea of spending a dime here. Sorry to say that I won’t patronize...a place where the staff would laugh at a customer.

I must say that I was not expecting this quality of food and service but it was great! I would definitely go back and recommend this place. I went to the one located near pilares street in Mexico City.
