Bidra med feedbackI dined at Belfiore on Tuesday October 1 after having visited many times. As an openly gay man, I have never felt threatened for openly holding hands or dining out on a date in Mexico City; that is until my visit at Belfiore. We were...subjected to the most vile, vitriolic abuse by a fellow customer on a separate table. The abhorrent behaviour continued for more than 30 minutes with very little intervention from the maitre d and management until I was punched across the face while calmly sitting at my table. I removed myself from the situation in the most dignified manner possible under the circumstances. As sad as it is that these homophobic attacks still take place today, I was especially shocked at the lack of response from the restaurant team. At no point was there any attempt to remove the customer prior to the escalation of the attack and, quite horrifically, no apology was issued, however, the bill was promptly presented. If Belfiore wish to discuss this, I sincerely hope they reach out before taking matters further.
This is just a short walk from the main restaurant in polanco, but what a joy. eating was wonderful and better than most Italian restaurants in new york. the service is attentive and the ambiente is delightful.
This restaurant is located in trendy avenida masaryk is top notch. location 5 setting 5 ambiente 5 food 5 service 5 (our waiter jorge briones was great). first they bring them wonderful foccacia brot and a dip of black calamata oliven. delicious! Um...start, we ordered an antipasto di mare with otopus, garnel and kartoffeln. really good! as a matter of principle. we ordered lamb ossobuco, salmon carpaccio, artichokes and parmesan risotto and lobster risotto. every dish was great. as desserts a pannacotta with berries and a pernentetatin. delicious! for drinking we had Italian mineral water panna. the bill was about $80 per couple (we were 4).
While waiting for a car to take us to the airport, our hotel receptionist referred us to Belfiore. What a fantastic Italian restaurant. We had been in Italy in October so you can imagine our surprise in finding Italian food as good any we had...in Italy. My wife had a lemon ricotta penne and I had an artichoke risotto. Both were outstanding. The restaurant in on Masaryk in Polanco, an area with many hotels and restaurants. Worth your time to find this small place so call ahead for reservations. .
Very disappointed with this restaurant. Pasta was overcooked and the waiter was demanding we leave 20% service charge we added 10% service charge and he added additional 10% on top and was demanding we increase the service charge and got very agitated when we...said we only wanted to leave 10. Very rude.
