Anise - Mid Sussex

I was staying at the hotel and found the food to be decent with fair prices. The restaurant at the hotel is above average and would be convenient for a work function or birthday party, especially with ample on-site parking available.

The food and service were both good, and we were able to take advantage of a great package deal with the hotel. Our main issue was the lack of ambiance, which could have been improved with some music or better lighting. Despite that, we enjoyed the food and found the house wine to be very enjoyable.

I was excited for dinner at this restaurant, but I was only able to give it a rating of 4. It seems like they are trying too hard and missing the mark. The food was presented in a fancy way, but it lacked in taste.

We went with our son and his partner yesterday evening. We were served by William who was very professional and charming, a real asset to the restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the beetroot and goats curd starter, followed by the lobster ravioli then a delicious mango dessert with chilli which was an inspiration! We will be back.
