Vanilla Bake House - Mid Suffolk

I am writing on behalf of my partner, who visited this restaurant for the first time after wanting to go for a while. Unfortunately, he was not satisfied with his experience. The staff were unfriendly when he walked in, and his drink was served in a take away cup without the option of a proper cup. When he asked if they were closing soon, he was told they were closing in 15 minutes. He felt that was plenty of time to serve him in a proper cup and allow him to enjoy his drink. At the very least, a polite gesture like asking if he minded a takeaway because they were closing soon would have been appreciated. This visit was his first and last.

I had a wonderful time at this restaurant for lunch. The staff was friendly and the portions of delicious food were generous. It was more than enough to satisfy my hunger.

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, as I had driven past it a few times. However, I was extremely disappointed and will not be returning. Upon arrival, I was not greeted and the staff seemed irritated that I was there, even though there was only one other customer. Eventually, I was asked for my order. I requested a cappuccino and a specific slice of bread pudding from the counter. The staff member seemed annoyed when I made this request, stating that all the slices were from the same batch. I explained that I preferred a slice without crust, to which she informed me that the slice I requested had some crust. I told her that was okay, but she still offered to get me a different slice. The unnecessary attitude and lack of customer service led me to tell her not to bother and I left. I will not be spending any of my money at a restaurant that made me feel so unwelcome.

Excellent chocolate fridge cake. Possibly the best I've ever had. Took the cake and coffee and sat in the shade on the grass under a tree opposite. Perfect

You are always greeted here as a friend. Breakfasts, lunch and takeaway products are always perfect. Squidgy white rolls are the best. Cakes are lovely.
