Bidra med feedbackDuring the pandemic, once the Retreat was opened, we visited it. It was fine. Although the noise level from their own 'music machine ' was unpleasant they turned it down on request. Unfortunately, once everything was back to normal they again let in the football boozers. Our last visit was a shock to the system. We entered the pub to be blasted by an unfiltered scream of football madness. Clearly the people in charge had no concern about the noise level so we left immediately. Until they get a grip on maintaining a decent place for family and others to meet, it isn 't going to work. We walked half a mile to the alternative and were able to sit down for a quiet pint or two. Please Retreat get your act together and maintain some level of noise control!
The food was amazing. V authentic broth . Only thing that would have improved it was to take out the aromatics ie lemongrass and galangal. Expensive but v gd
Delicious Thai food! We have ordered Thai food a few times during lock down and recently had dinner at the pub. The Thai food is so delicious. Our favourite is the chicken wings. They are by far the best wings I’ve ever had. We will definitely be regulars.
Good thai curry, cooked by a thai women surprisingly. Reasonable boozer and enjoyed the pints as well
We have sadly had to stop going to the Retreat. My friend and I had been going fairly regularly over the weekends. The food is fine but the noise had become appalling. With very loud music piped everywhere and tvs on as well, the noise of loud-mouthed intoxicated men at the bar was supplemented with screaming children that were left freely running around finally turned us away.
