Bidra med feedbackOne of my favorite restaurants! We always eat here whenever we go to BGC because of its great food and great service. Love their hanger steak and makis!
Tbh it looked good at first. the service wasn't really good, and the food wasn't great either. Good concept but too pretentious idk what they were trying. And honestly they keep using the same sweet sauce (very sweet) on all of the dishes. The food wasn't bad but I don't think it deserves it's rating. disappointed.
For the second part of "try something new date", my beloved and i went to Ooma after watching Spiderman at Central Square. The place was packed and it was only 7PM, and when we got inside the noise level was that of Din Tai Fung across the courtyard. The place was cramped, and the tables so close together that you can eavesdrop on couples having their own dates. For dinner, we ordered Uma Viche, and Hamachi and Kani Aburi Maki; I also got a bowl of Oyako Don (topped with a giant piece of chicken skin, I might add). The fish of the Uma Viche was fresh and succulent, and I could taste hints of ginger in it. The crispy kangkong was a good decision to add texture to the dish, and props for them because it didn't become soggy (or we just ate it too fast). I do have problems with the flavor of this ceviche. I like my kinilaw dishes to be sour (and spicy) and the sauce was surprisingly sweet. I kinda felt cheated as I had expectations. The Oyako Don bowl was okay, the chicken was tender and they were generous with the mushrooms. The bowl will arrive at your table with an egg underneath the chicken skin, and you need to mix the entire thing to incorporate the runny egg yolk into the dish. The chicken skin was left on the fryer a tad too long and i tasted hints of burnt flavor but it wasn't oily so minus the guilt there. The star of the evening was the Aburi Maki which, in one bite, was bursting in complex flavors that my mind quickly took notes lest I forget all the details. At once, you can taste the smokiness of the dish and it didn't overpower the delicate flavor of the hamachi and kani. The rice was perfectly cooked and the entire thing was well-seasoned. Our server did not have a pad and pen when she took our order; and I'm always wary about this type of service because sometimes, they get our orders wrong. However, I am glad to report that the wait staff of Ooma has razor sharp mamory, and their service was prompt and friendly. We were advised by beloved's friend to go back and try the gyoza which I heard has cheese in it. Until next time then.

Just got home from Ooma and I am already planning my return. Dined here today with the hubby, a happy and satisfied hubby after Ooma. Everything was good. We started the meal with the soft shell crab taco. There was a burst of flavours on my taste buds immediately after my first bite. We also ordered the hanger steak and paired it with chasu rice. The steak was so good and the blend of truffle on each bite was just so...ummm..no words.. There's just one downside of our dining experience. The soft shell crab taco was soooo good but we initially only ordered one serving. We ordered an additional serving but had to wait for some time before we continue our gastronomic degustation! Take this as a warning!!
