Pete's Kitchen - Meridian Station

My family and I have been coming to Pete’s regularly for years. Just walked in. Not very busy as it’s Memorial Day Weekend. All the booths were full, but one had just opened up. It was dirty, but we were happy to wait a few minutes. Asked the server/hostess and she snapped “That one’s dirty!” and walked away.It seemed really uncalled for. I ran restaurants for years (and worked in diners myself). My husband serves tables. Neither of us would’ve ever snapped at a customer like that making a polite request. Especially when it was much slower than usual.I know this particular woman has worked there for a long time. She often has a bit of an edge to her. That’s fine. It’s a little bit expected of a diner waitress. However, she really over stepped this time. We walked straight back out and decided to go to Lucille’s instead. It costs too much money to go out to eat these days to be treated like that.

I could live off their chili! The servers are always nice and quick and it feels like a diner from my childhood.

In town and I am a DINER fan. I always seek local diners to get a feel of the local crowds. Pete’s is a cute small town look but, with a city feel.The food comes fast, the music is great, and the people are super chill.
