Yerbabuena Restaurante & Cafe - Mérida

Its difficult to find a small local restaurant, where the owners are the cooks and design a daily menu, with pride and joy, in an unassuming location, with great produce and meals for carnivores, omnivores, vegetarians and vegans in one location. Amazing. We stumbled into this place looking for a vegan place since two of of daughters are Vegan, and while we were visiting our family needed a place for everyone else be able to eat. Searching the web we were close to Yerba Buena (Peppermint) so we decided to try it out. Not easy to find right behind the Comercial Mexicana Supermarket (Calle 37D esquina calle 12 Fracc. Aguilas Chuburná Mérida, Mexico). And please do not be turned off by the look of the place. Its really unassuming but its packed by the two owners and a helper who make daily menus and are really proud of their meals. We were impressed that they had food for everyone(when we originally were planning for meals for the two Vegans), but their creativity was great. They have vegan and non vegan daily specials, but ask for the Vegan Burger which is great. You will not be disappointed.
