La Chaya Maya - Mérida

From yadira at the Hostess-Desk to leon the waiter, the service impeccable only surpassed by the amazing cultural experience they are here! the cochinito pabil, vaporcito (holy guacamole) dare her! the panocho pabil yummmm. the best of the best is the joroche suppe. filled with the sausage corn meal dumpling in a black bean soup puree. the best I had in all mexiko since 1991. I mentioned, incredibly priced! there 3 times 8n 5 days!

This is a place where you always feel as welcome as home. the personal is warm, friendly and unpredictable. eating is delicious and cost-effective; the anesthesia of yukatecian families (also in other yucatecan restaurants) is the guarantee of the...Atmosphere and genuineness of eating. we recommend this place 100% and wish them an endless and successful future.

One of the best places in the city of merida to have dinner. we have been and recommended for many of our guests and they have all loved absolutely. it is a place to visit more than once.

This is a very good place to try one of the best traditional Yucatan's food for a decent price. Everything is above average (good), but Cochinita Pibil here and the Lime Soup are exceptional. The best I had after trying several of the best rated...places in the last 5 days. The Tikin Xic is also amazing. A fish with shrimp, octopus and clams. The vaporcitos are ok (a tamal oaxaqueño is way better though), relleno negro was good and pipián was above average. Desserts are simple, but good. My recommendation: if you want to try the best dishes, go for lime soup and cochinita pibil then or the Tikin Xic fish. If you want to try a bit of everything try Los 4 Yucas dish to share among 3-5 people, and then decide what you like most to order. This place is a must while at Merida's downtown.

Get the Chaya drink! If it's one thing you get here, get the drink made from Chaya. I've never seen it in the states. This is traditional Yucatec food so definitely get it while you're here. Cochinita Pibil was great too. If you just want...to try everything the just get the two sampler plates like in the picture.
