Bidra med feedbackThe restaurant was overly sweet. I was excited to try this place since it was ranked in the Top 50 Texas BBQ joints. However, it didn't meet my expectations. The meat was cooked well, but the sauce was too sugary. I regret getting more than one rib. If you enjoy sweet BBQ, you might enjoy this place, but I don't plan on returning.
I arrived at the restaurant after 5:00pm on a weekday and was surprised to find it empty. I initially thought they were closed until I was told they were open for dinner. With no customers in sight, I became wary as a BBQ place without a line usually means something isn't right. Unfortunately, the food did not impress me. The pork ribs were not up to par, drowning in sauce to compensate for other shortcomings. The brisket was marginally better. The beans were tasty, but the creamed corn was a disappointment for me, breaking my usual rule that I enjoy creamed corn. Perhaps this place is better suited for a weekend or lunch visit, but it didn't meet my expectations.
The beef brisket at this restaurant is extremely juicy and delicious, and is also very reasonably priced. It pairs well with instant noodles as leftovers. However, the coleslaw is not appetizing at all and I couldn't even take a bite. I wish they had some hot sauce available to add some extra flavor.
Great place ...the brisket was very juicy (and it was considered a lean cut). The BBQ sauce was just perfect...not too spicy...not too sweet. Try the Pork Ribs.. they literally fell off the bone!!!! Will definitely be coming back. The place isclean..and we'll ventilated. Also, try the potato salad...it is also a great side! The price is very reasonable... we weresurprised with our family meal ticket 60% of what we usually pay.
First time at The Smoking Oak. Our server, Lilly was wonderful. Ribs, brisket, sausage and Turkey were amazing. Beans and potato salad were good as well. Very clean, friendly environment. We will definitely be back.
